Technology and Resources

Computers are very important these days, especially when it comes to college students. At Clark University they are aware of this and make it easier for students to gain access to specific software programs that are required in the construction of many projects for classes from the many different departments.

In order to help both the students and faculty, Clark University has partnered with such giants as Microsoft and Adobe in order to provide Clarkies and their teachers with valuable software to make the teaching process easier and homework or projects more enjoyable, without having to worry about the inability of students to acquire the same programs as those used in class. The software is for personal use only and is available through e-Academy with users and passwords created specifically for every individual.

Of course software cannot run without hardware so the university has made partnerships with Apple, Dell and Hewlett-Packard in order to bring more affordable computers for all students, staff and faculty members. Minimum requirements are also specified in order for those who are not tech savvy to understand what type of machine they would probably require for their specific needs.

Clark University provides all undergrads and graduate students with personalized email accounts linked to the university, where they will receive news and advertisements all the time regarding student life, the campus and activities. A wireless network across the whole campus makes it possible for anyone with a laptop computer to connect to the internet in order to check email, do research or access the online library and college resources available on the website. Access to the WiFi is free for all students and faculty members at any time of day or night.

For any questions or problems regarding anything tech-related, a support staff and helpdesk is available for all those in trouble every day of the week from 8 AM to 5 PM.
