Research at Clark University
Founded in the late 1880s, Clark University has established itself as being a primarily research-based institution. By combining research and liberal arts it has managed to gain the interest of thousands of young minds with every passing year and has gathered an incredible number of students every time, all who enrolled eagerly awaiting the start of a challenging and rewarding educational experience.
Research is the primary step when attacking any field or discussion full on. It is at the base of every competent conversation that can ever be held from one person to another or from one to many, in a formal or informal circumstance. When dealing with a college environment that comprises everything from modern literature to the most difficult sciences, students and professors alike must consider thoroughly researching a subject before presenting it in front of their peers. At Clark University research is one of the key factors of a student’s life and efforts are constantly made and improved into turning their research into action.
By gathering a large number of bright minds concentrated by different fields, the faculty and students at Clark have been working together for generations to bring their investigative work into real life applications and situations. The upper hand that this university has over many other in the country and even in the world is the relationship between faculty and students. The continuous study in a specific field leads to inquiries from students, which maintains their interest and guarantees committed involvement in the learning process.
The interactivity of the classes keeps students focused and attentive throughout the whole year and interdisciplinary collaboration makes it even easier to assimilate large amounts of data coming from faculty members.
There are eight centers at Clark University dedicated to research. The William and Jane Mosakowski Institute, The George Perkins Marsh Institute, The Strassler Family Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies and The Center for Technology, Environment and Development are among them.
